So for the Christmas holidays (a little while ago), we had the exciting visit of Steve’s family coming all the way from Philly to celebrate the festive season in OZ. For 10 amazing days, we traveled all over South Australia: from the Barossa Valley to Kangaroo Island, going to Gorge Wildlife Park. No time to rest!
After having picked up the whole Gross family (almost) at the airport, we drove all the way South to Cape Jervis where the ferry was patiently waiting to take us to Kangaroo Island, first destination. We had a blast there: between the beautiful hidden beaches, the palace we stayed in, the sandboarding experience, the outstanding views of the island wildlife, and the many food delights we tried. This place is simply amazing, full of surprises and a concentrate of diverse activities for every family type. A must-see in SA.
Second destination: Barossa Valley. This world-famous wine region was another must-do that we kept on our bucket list to enjoy it with the Grosses. Our palates thanked us to have introduced them with divine regional cheeses paired with local white and red wines. Free access to cellar doors with free tasting of at least 4 different wines, what a perfect day!

One of our last destinations, after having spent some time on Glenelg beach and in Adelaide CBD, we enjoyed the wildlife park of Gorge where kangaroos, wallabies and other species are free-roaming animals. You can hold a koala for a few minutes for free (compared to $30 at Cleland.. ridiculous!). We also hiked like pros at Deep Creek Conservation Park, where our friends kangaroos were still hanging out with us.
We had a good time in SA with great people. These are moments that will remain engraved in our memories. Now who’s the next family member/friend who is willing to come visit us in stunning Australia?! 🙂
